There are three specific nutritional needs during pregnancy. For example, weight gain during pregnancy, Cravings and energy.

1. weight gain is important because on the 2nd and 3rd trimester the mother needs to gain weight to support the growth of the baby. It is important to avoid high calorie foods such as cookie and candy.

2. Secondly, craving is another need during pregnancy but one has to apportion the food

Balanced and nutritional duet helps in supporting the growth of the baby.

3.The food also gives the mother energy during pregnancy as well as it help in ensuring safe and comfortable pregnancy. It also relive e one of the pregnancy pangs.

Risks

Alcohol during pregnancy should be avoided as it leads behavioral and development problems for the baby. On the other hand, heavy drinking can also results into serious malformation and mental retardation during pregnancy.

Balanced diet during pregnancy

Fruits should be one quarter of the plate: Fruits, vegetable, grains and protein are important during pregnancy of ample fiber and essential nutrients therefore green vegetables provide the foliate required for the development of the baby.

Vitamin A and C fight infection and keep eye and skin healthy

Protein less then quarter of the plate. Protein contain iron for healthy blood and string immune system- scrambled eggs, chicken breast at dinner to avoid pregnancy induced anemia.

Whole grain more than one quarter of the plate: whole grain contain fiber and carbohydrates for energy during pregnancy

Nutritional needs change for an adult woman if she becomes pregnant. Energy needs gradually increase, and the need for some macro- and micronutrients increase to supply the growing fetus all of the molecules it needs for healthy development. These nutritional changes can usually be accomplished by modifying the diet so as to accomodate the needs of both the mother and her baby.
